WPL Publishing Co., Inc., publisher of the ConstructionPro Network (featuring Construction Claims Advisor), announces a valuable new interactive webinar:

Resolution of Construction Disputes - The Next Generation
Wednesday, February 19, 2014
1:00-2:30 PM EST

Presented by:
J. David W. Halligan, Ph.D., P.E. - Associate Director, Navigant Consulting
James G. Zack, Jr., CCM, CFCC, FAACE, FRICS, PMP - Executive Director, Navigant Construction Forum

Construction industry disputes are common, and the amounts in dispute are frequently quite high. Such disputes are often quite complex, making it difficult to present issues clearly to non-technical triers of fact. Until the late 1980s, the traditional dispute resolution process involved negotiations, possibly mediation, followed by litigation. Although the construction industry is not typically considered to be progressive or forward thinking with respect to disputes resolution, the industry has developed a number of alternative means for resolving disputes.
Numerous alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques have been developed and implemented, all with the end goal of resolving disputes without resorting to traditional, time-consuming and expensive litigation. This webinar discusses nearly 30 forms of ADR that are being used in the construction industry. While some are merely variations of a theme, all are different and all have advantages and disadvantages that should be considered prior to selection. The various forms of ADR are presented in logical order following a dispute from the project site to the adjudicative forum.

Attend this information-packed, 90-minuted webinar to:

  • Learn about pre-dispute dispute resolution methods
  • Review dispute resolution methods during the initial claims and dispute phase
  • Become conversant on alternative dispute resolution during litigation
  • And much, much more!

In addition, a 10-to-15 minute period has been reserved at the end of the speakers' presentation for an interactive question-and-answer session so you can discuss specific issues or gain additional knowledge about topics discussed.
