Inside Exemplary Service: Ford Musician Awardees

Meet the first five orchestra musicians who earned a 2016 Ford Musician Award for Excellence in Community Service. Learn about what motivates them to go above and beyond and how to foster and recognize the full range of potential for musicians to provide meaningful service through music. This new League of American Orchestras program is made possible by Ford Motor Company Fund. The awardees were selected by a panel of industry professionals through a competitive process. Each musician received a $2,500 grant, with another $2,500 going to his or her orchestra to fund professional development for musicians that focuses on community service and engagement.
